The founder Michael O’Brien, who is a Police Officer for The City of Kennesaw located in Georgia, was sharing his concerns with neighbor and future board member Danyale Kelley. She suggested Mike contact The Cajun Navy to see if he could help in any way. Mike responded to Lumberton NC and other affected areas over the next week. As Mike was on his first mission he took notes of lessons he learned to figure out what his role would be in future disaster responses.
Community Incident Response Foundation was incorporated as a nonprofit Corporation in October 2018. The Board of Directors began discussions about how to organize the foundation. In March 2019 deadly tornadoes hit Alabama and Georgia. Mike felt a need to deploy for this mission. Mike was joined by Joe “Chef” Kelley on the trip to Talbot County GA. After a very successful weekend of feeding, bringing clothes, blankets and compassion to the City of Talbotton. The vision for the foundation became clear as Mike and Chef were on this mission. We will focus on feeding first responders and Volunteers along with the people living in the effected communities.
