FAMILY OF ROTARY

Our membership cares deeply about the needs and concerns of our members. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out in friendship when such concerns arise. The chairperson of this committee is Lynne Lindsey and all news should be directed to her at lynnehlindsay@outlook.com

President's Message

Exciting Upcoming Meeting: Pie the Therapy Llama, Interact Celebration, and Scholarships!

Don’t miss our next Roswell Rotary meeting — it’s going to be a special one!

We are thrilled to welcome back Pie the Therapy Llama, who has recently completed a role in the upcoming movie Saturday Nights. Pie stole our hearts during the last visit, and we can’t wait to hear about this exciting new adventure.

In addition, this meeting is our Annual Interact Club Celebration. Our amazing Interact students will present what they accomplished throughout the year — and what a year it’s been! Come hear firsthand how these future leaders have made an impact in their schools and community.

We will also proudly present the Tom Zachary, Power of One Award and the Stan Moses Scholarship, recognizing outstanding young people for their leadership, service, and character. This week’s meeting will also recognize the Teacher of the Year and Student of the Year from Crabapple Middle, Elkins Point Middle, Mimosa Elementary and Mt Park Elementary.

It’s a meeting full of inspiration, celebration, and maybe even a little llama magic — you won’t want to miss it!

Introducing Jackie Jordan
New Member Spotlight

"Prior to a cross-country move from Sonoma, California to Georgia, unaware of where I’d eventually reside, I knew my decision would be based on the outcome of visits to various Rotary Clubs. That plan was cut somewhat short following my first of many visits to the Roswell Rotary in the beguiling city of Roswell. Having belonged to 2 clubs in Sonoma, founding Charter Member of one, I was already committed to Rotarian values…what better foundation upon which to build a new life?

My contributions to Roswell Rotary include a real-world creative background in design (residential, graphic and spatial), sales and marketing management and authorship of 5 books. However, other-world interests comprise hands-on research into the mystical, metaphysical and psycho-spiritual realms of Exceptional Human Experience (EHE). While I am occasionally found with my head in the clouds (or books), I am more likely in the here and now, grounded by an ongoing focus on my design life; culinary endeavors to entice family and friends; and of course, by Sharla, my irrepressible Golden Retriever.

Serving Roswell Rotary on the Public Image Committee, my initial goal, is sure to expand into other avenues".

-Jackie Jordan, April 2025

Please help us to welcome Jackie Jordan into the Roswell Rotary Club. She has already joined the Public Image Committee. Woo Hoo!! And she has been flying through her Red Badge checklist. Can't wait to see the value she will add to our club.

RRAH - Next Meeting is Today, April 15th!

Welcome Isabelle Rudd from Brewable to our next Roswell Rotary After Hours meeting! Isabelle was a part of Brewable's founding team and their first manager. She is still involved and is a young professional.

Brewable is the first grassroots nonprofit of its kind in North Fulton County dedicated to the employment and enrichment of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). With opportunities to train, learn, and excel in a community café setting, employees, a.k.a. Brewistas gain the necessary skills and confidence to achieve long-term success. Their mission is to create meaningful, paid employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD); To offer valuable customer service and real-world problem-solving experience; And to foster an inclusive work environment where community connections brew confidence.

Our next meeting is today, April 15th at 6:30 pm at the Artillery Room in Gate City. Can't wait to see you there!

After Hours 3rd Annual Comedy for a Cause!

Get ready to laugh for a cause!

Join us for our 3rd Annual Comedy for a Cause — where we turn laughter into support for those who need it most. This year, we’re proud to partner with Giving Grace, a local Atlanta organization dedicated to helping families with everything from child care assistance and rent support to securing housing for those experiencing homelessness.

Every need is unique, and Giving Grace is there to meet people where they are. Now it’s our turn to give back!

Come out for a Thirsty Thursday full of laughs, community, and purpose — and help make a difference, one punchline at a time!

When: June 12th, 2025

Time: 6-9pm

Location: Roswell Junction 340 S Atlanta St. Roswell, GA 30075

Donation Opportunity Chad Miller Roswell Fire Dept. Captain Emergency Management

Many in our Club know Chad Miller as the Captain of Emergency Services for Roswell Fire Department. Or you saw him on the Honor Air bus and plane as part of the volunteer Safety Team as when we honored our veterans Washington, DC.

What you may not know is the fight that his family is going through as his wife, Emma, faces surgery for breast cancer and a double mastectomy at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. A GOFUNDME has been set up by the Roswell Fire Dept Chaplain to help the family with their enormous expenses and a QR code is provided here if you would like to donate to help.
