Midwest Food Bank Food for KSU CARE

The Midwest Food Bank, second largest food distribution organization in the world, has agreed to provide food to the Kennesaw State University CARE Center (Campus Awareness, Resource, & Empowerment) beginning March 2024.  This initiative will provide monthly food delivery to needy students enrolled at KSU.

This connection is the product of two North Cobb Rotarians talking, discovering a need and a solution.  Jeff Bass is familiar with Midwest Food Bank through his previous work with disaster relief.  Robert Shippey is a Development Officer at KSU, whose late wife's memorial was directed to KSU CARE.  These men approached Midwest Food Bank and found a willing partner.

Deliveries begin March 2024, with KSU Distribution Services transporting pallets of food, and North Cobb Rotarians unloading, organizing, and inventorying.  The value of the food is estimated to be $100,000-$120,000 per year!

This is the ideal of Rotary at Work!  The statistics reflect the projected first month.  Photos will be posted after the first delivery.
