James currently served the City of Acworth for more than 25 years.  He has served the last four years as City Manager and the prior 21 as the Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Resources.  He is a husband, father, coach, and volunteer.  He leads a small group at NorthStar Church, serves as the President of the Allatoona Wrestling Takedown Club, and sits on the Board of Directors for the Acworth Business Association.  In his free time he enjoys coaching, fishing, reading, and writing.  He is the author of the Leadership and Main Blog, a weekly leadership blog on how local leaders can better the communities they live in.
